Privacy Policy

NextSeason is developed by Trial by Fyre, LLC. We believe your TV watchlist is your business, not ours. NextSeason does not require an account, does not contain advertising, and does not track you across apps or websites.

This policy explains what information NextSeason stores and sends when you use the app.

Your Watchlist

Your NextSeason watchlist is stored on your device. Trial by Fyre does not receive a copy of your watchlist and does not maintain a server containing your list of shows.

NextSeason also stores app settings and diagnostic information on your device so that the app can work properly and provide troubleshooting information.

If you choose to export your watchlist, NextSeason creates an export file on your device and lets you choose where to send or save it using Apple’s sharing features. Trial by Fyre does not receive a copy of your exported watchlist unless you choose to send it to us.

TV Information Services

NextSeason uses third-party television data services to search for shows and obtain information about seasons, premiere dates, and show status.

When you search for a show, your search text is sent to TheTVDB so that search results can be returned. NextSeason also communicates with TVmaze to retrieve and update information about shows.

These services necessarily receive technical information associated with an internet request, such as your IP address. Their handling of that information is governed by their own privacy policies and practices.

NextSeason does not send your complete watchlist to these services as a user profile or account.

Anonymous Analytics

NextSeason uses Aptabase to collect a small amount of anonymous usage information. This helps us understand whether the app is working well and which parts of it are being used.

NextSeason currently sends anonymous events for:

• launching the app;
• performing a search, including the length of the search, number of results, how long the search took, and whether it succeeded; and
• selecting a show from search results, including whether that show was already on the watchlist.

NextSeason does not send your search text, show names, or show identifiers to Aptabase.

Aptabase does not use device identifiers, cookies, fingerprinting, or long-term user identification, and its analytics are not linked to identifiable individuals.

Notifications

NextSeason uses local notifications to tell you when information about one of your shows changes. Notification processing is performed on your device. Trial by Fyre does not operate a push-notification server that receives your watchlist.

You can control NextSeason’s notification permission at any time in your device’s Settings.

Purchases

Purchases of NextSeason Plus are processed by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit. Trial by Fyre does not receive or store your payment-card information.

Apple’s handling of information related to App Store purchases is governed by Apple’s privacy policies.

Diagnostics and Support

NextSeason records certain diagnostic information on your device, such as app activity counts and information useful for troubleshooting. This information is not automatically sent to Trial by Fyre.

If you choose to contact us for support or send us diagnostic information, we will receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, message, screenshots, or diagnostic report. We use that information to respond to your request and troubleshoot the problem.

Please do not send passwords, payment-card information, or other sensitive information in a support request.

Crash Reports

Trial by Fyre does not use a third-party crash-reporting service in NextSeason. Crash and diagnostic information may be collected and provided by Apple through TestFlight or the App Store according to Apple’s privacy practices and your device settings.

Advertising and Tracking

NextSeason does not contain advertising.

NextSeason does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites and does not sell your personal information.

Data Retention and Deletion

Because your watchlist and most NextSeason data are stored on your device rather than on Trial by Fyre servers, Trial by Fyre does not maintain an account or server-side watchlist for you to delete.

You can remove individual shows from your watchlist within NextSeason. NextSeason’s locally stored data may be included in your device backups, including iCloud Backup, according to your device and iCloud settings. Removing the app removes its locally stored data from that device, although copies may remain in existing device backups according to Apple’s backup behavior.

Anonymous analytics sent to Aptabase cannot be associated with you as an identifiable individual.

If you contact Trial by Fyre for support, we may retain your correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your request, troubleshoot problems, maintain business records, and improve NextSeason. You may contact us to request deletion of support correspondence that can reasonably be identified as yours, subject to any legal or legitimate recordkeeping requirements.

Children

NextSeason is a general-audience app and is not designed to collect personal information from children. Because NextSeason does not require an account or ask users to provide personal information to use the app, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy if NextSeason’s features or data practices change. The current version will be posted on the NextSeason website with its effective date.
